Dodital Trek is a freshwater lake in Uttarakhand, located at an elevation of 3030 Mtr. According to one of the popular legends Lord Ganesha chose this place as his abode. There is a tample devoted to Lord Ganesha. It is surrounded by a dense forest of oak.pine, cidrus and rhododendron. It offers a lovely Trek though the green fields and villages as you climb further into the dense forest to reach the beautiful Dodital lake and eventually to Dwara pass topat 4160 mtr offers panormic views of Dhaualadhar and Greater Himalaya ranges.             This trek in particular is also bird watchers paradise, the trek is full of rare Himalayan Pheasant’s which are not spotted easily. Some of the famous birds found here include Brown Fronted Woodpecker, Grey Tit,Himalayan Babbler,Red-Billed Blue Magpie, Grey Shrike, Munia,Himalayan Whistling Thrush, Himalayan Tree Pie, Himalayan Monal are commonly seen.

An ideal beginners trek in the Garhwal Himalayas. The trek includes camping alongside the beautiful Dodital ( Dodi Lake) before traversing the Darwa Pass. The pass affords impressive views of the mighty Bandarpunch(link) and the snowy ridges of the Dhaula Dhar as well as the forested ridges and meadows leading down to Hanuman Chatti a famous pilgrim town. There are interesting side trips, including a foray to Yamunotri and the the Bandarpunch Base Camp from this trek.

Day1:- Haridwar – Sangamchatti

We assemble at Haridwar Railway Station and start our 180 Km Long Journey towards Uttarkashi. The drive winds along the rivers and valleys offering beautiful views and soon we reach Sangamchatti in Uttarkashi, our camp site for the night. After Dinner Overnight at Sangamchatti

Day2 :- Sangamchatti – Bherva

After breakfast we head towards our next campsite Bherva. Initially we ascend gradually along the Paddy fields of the villages. The route is used by villagers living in villages lying along the trail. After crossing the villages of Agoda and Bherva we reach the campsite. After Dinner overnight at Bherva campsite.

Day3 :- Bherva – Dodital

Today is a long day, as we head towards Dodital, it’s a 16 km long stretch and may take upto 8 hours depending upon your pace. The trail is a well laid path and is relatively easy. We trek along the route and halt at Manjhi Campsite and have our packed lunches. After lunch we trek for another two hours and get to beautiful Dodital Campsite. The lake is famous for Golden Masheer Fish however fishing is not allowed here as the lake is held sacred by the locals and has another name Dhundital (Ganesh Ji’s Lake) it also is known as birth place of Lord Ganesh. Day4 :- Dodital – Dwara Pass Top – Dodital

Today is toughest of all in this journey. Dwara Pass is perched on 4150 Mtr and 6 km Trek takes 4 hours. The entire walk is an uphill climb into a dense birch forest opening into a wide meadow. The pass offers you a panoramic views of Bandarpoonch and Swaragarohini range, Back to Dodital, evening is to relax and explore the beautiful campsite. After dinner overnight at Dodital Campsite.

Day5 :- Dodital – Bherva

After breakfast we follow the same route towards the Bherva Campsite. The trek will take around 5 Hours and we will reach campsite by afternoon. After Dinner overnight at Bherva Campsite

Day6 :- Bherva – Haridwar

Last day of trek, we have our breakfast and trek down towards the road head where our transport awaits us to take us back to Haridwar.

Day 1: Reach Uttarakashi and overnight stay in Uttarkashi

Arrival at our Kuflon base camp located 11 Km upstream of Uttarkashi on Dodital route.

Day 2: Trekking from Sangamchatti to Bhevra (Bebra)

After an early breakfast you drive 3 Kms to Sangamchatti to start your 8 Km trek to Bebra.

Day 3: Trekking from Bhevra (Bebra) to Dodital Lake

After breakfast you start your uphill climb till Dharkot.

Day 4: Day excursion from Dodital Lake to Darwa Pass top and return

Third day of the trek takes you to an elevation of 4200 meters at Darwa Top.

Day 5: Trek from Dodital Lake to Bhevra

After hot lunch at Dodital you return to Bebra.

Day6: Bherva – Haridwar

Last day of trek, we have our breakfast and trek down towards the road head where our transport awaits us to take us back to Haridwar.
