The Beas Kund is one of the most mesmerising sites in the Himalayas. The source of river Beas and the birth place of the great sage Vyas, Beas Kund is going to leave you spellbound with its beauty and tranquillity. A moderate trek to Beas Kund offers some breath-taking views of the Pir Panjal range and other peaks like Friendship, Ladakhi, Hanuman Tibba and Shitidar in the backdrop makes the place all the more enchanting.
The trek starts from Solang Valley which is renowned for ski slopes and para gliding. The trail leads from lush green meadows, glaciers and snow-capped mountains. After crossing Dhundhi and Bakarthach one reaches sacred Beas Kund.
Day 1:- Arrival at Manali
Arrive at Manali by 10 am in morning. Once arrived, we plan for an acclimatization walk around the old Manali, this will include a local trek cum sightseeing i.e. Hadimba Temple, Manu temple, Vasistha Temple.
Day 2:- Manali – Dhundi (Drive)|Dhundi – Bakarthach (Trek)
After Breakfast, you will drive to Dhundi followed by a trek to Bakarthach from Dhundi. The trek level again ascends from easy to intermediate standards, but the picturesque view and the landscape makes you forget everything else. In the midway, You will find water streams, pahadi Gujjars, Gaddis who visit mountains to feed there cattles, folks and herds. You will have our lunch somewhere in the middle of the trek alongside water streams. At Bakarthach, tents will be allotted on the sharing basis and dinner will be served.
Day 3:- Bakarthach – Beas kund (3650 mtr) – Bakarthach
Post early breakfast, you will begin your trek to Beas Kund. Trek over morraine to the small lake at Bea’s kund, the birth place of the river Beas. Stand here and let the cold mountain air chill your lungs, take in the enormity of what you are experiencing. Follow the river on its journey as it grows from nothing but a trickle. Trek back to Bakarthach.
Day 4:- Bakarthach – Dhundi and Drive to Manali (3 hrs)
Trek down to Dhundi along the Beast river, watch it as it merges with other Brooks and streams and grows before your eyes. Trek ends at Dhundi, drive back to Manali
